This Web page contains information on the proposed Common Government-wide Accounting
Classification (CGAC) Structure Agency Identifier. Background information and a detailed
explanation of the CGAC and the guidelines used in determining the new codes, are contained
in the CFO Letter below.

NOTE: Only expenditure accounts are included in the attached Agency Identifier Reports.
Once the Agency Identifier code is approved for the expenditure accounts, agencies will use
the same Agency Identifier code for their deposit funds and receipt accounts. When CGAC is
implemented Governmentwide, each agency will have the same Agency Identifier code for all FMS
and OMB reporting. The strategy for implementing CGAC is currently underway.
