Thank you for visiting the Financial Reference Data Web site of the United States Department of the Treasury's Financial Management Service (FMS). The Financial Management Service (FMS) and the Federal Reserve Bank jointly administer this site and are committed to protecting the privacy rights of its users. These rights are ensured through the Privacy Act, other Federal statutes and FMS policies and practices. Any personal information provided by users, as part of SAM processes, will be used solely for the purposes described at the point of collection.
No personal information will be collected as a result of simply visiting this site. However, to improve the site's usefulness to visitors and users, the system collects and maintains statistical information on network traffic flow and volume from the site's data logs.
The statistical information gathered is: name of the domain from which the visitor accesses the Internet (e.g., "ACompany.com," "ASchool.edu," or "AnAgency.gov"), Internet protocol number, date and time of the visit, type of browser and type of operating system used to access the site. This information does not identify individual visitors and is used to assist program administrators with technical problems that may occur. Aggregate information about individual web pages visited is collected to improve site content and structure. Excepting authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their use habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with national archives and Records Administration guidelines. Unauthorized attempts to upload or change this service's information are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
This site does not use "cookies." The site monitors network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise damage the Web service. The site focuses on Web site security so that the service remains available to users. No attempts are made to identify individual users unless illegal behavior is suspected.
